In 2021-2022, CRIPtic are working with Spread the Word to create a bimonthly salon for deaf and disabled writers. Each salon includes a workshop, a reading, and a Q&A, followed by an open mic session with 5*5 minute slots. The salon is open to anyone deaf and/or disabled who writes, or wants to write. These are free and BSL interpreted, and booking is now open for all of them.

If you want to read your work at an open mic, please register for the event via Eventbrite. Prior to the event you will receive an email with a Google Forms link within it, so you can register your interest. We will then select a balance of writers, trying to prioritise first-time applicants, and let you know whether you’ve been successful. You will need to send your work to our BSL interpreters ahead of time.
