About
We’re delighted to be shaping the 2025 Liberty Festival for London Borough of Culture in Wandsworth.
As the Mayor’s flagship disability arts festival, Liberty leads the way, and our vision showcases bold, innovative work that excites, challenges and reframes disability for audiences across the capital. This year, disabled people will be creatively collaborating with local communities, and celebrating our existence. Through Liberty, CRIPtic will foster new creatives and develop experienced creatives, investing in work at every stage, from fresh ideas to world-class works, shaping the present and future of disability arts.
News & Updates
Apply to become a 2025 Liberty Artist
We are looking to programme bold, innovative, and thought-provoking work by disabled* artists for Liberty 2025, taking place from 24-28 September 2025. The festival will take place in venues / spaces across Wandsworth, with Battersea Arts Centre as the central hub. You can apply for between £500-£20,000.
Design our Festival Care Space
If you could design a quiet space as a creative, what would you make? We are looking to contract an artist to create A Place to Rest, a care/quiet space responding to the need for people to move away from the bustle of Liberty Festival and stop, rest a tired or painful body, reduce (or increase) levels of stimulation and sensory input, take space, and breathe.
Design our Festival Access Training
Why is access training so often bland? As part of Liberty 2025, we’re committed to ensuring that all the partners across Liberty have received high-quality anti-ableism training. We want to commission a disabled artist or group to produce four digital anti-ableism modules for partners to watch and learn from.
Announcing the 2025 Liberty R&D Artists
We are thrilled to announce the commissioned R&D artists for The Liberty Festival 2025. With over £40,000 worth of commissions awarded, we are proud to support 19 artists and organisations across a range of disciplines, including theatre, visual arts, music, film, workshops, and art spaces.
