Announcing the 2025 Liberty R&D Artists!

We are thrilled to announce the commissioned R&D artists for The Liberty Festival 2025! As the Mayor’s flagship disability arts festival, Liberty is at the forefront of championing bold, innovative, and thought-provoking work by disabled artists.

Through Liberty, CRIPtic is committed to nurturing new talent and developing experienced creatives, investing in projects at every stage—from fresh ideas to world-class productions.

This open call disabled artists, producers, and creatives to undertake research and development for new arts projects with the potential to be presented at Liberty Festival 2025 and beyond. Our commissioned projects fall into three grant categories:

  • Major grants – Supporting large-scale, ambitious artistic projects.
  • Participatory grants – Focusing on community engagement and collaboration.
  • Micro-grants – Providing seed funding for early-stage ideas and emerging artists.

With over £40,000 worth of commissions awarded, we are proud to support 19 artists and organisations across a range of disciplines, including theatre, visual arts, music, film, workshops, and art spaces.

To hear more about their work in the coming weeks, follow our socials.

We are so excited to see what our R&D artists create!
